All Blacks dump Savea for the Bledisloe
Julian Savea has been dumped from the All Blacks for the first Bledisloe Cup clash against the Wallabies.

Giant winger Julian Savea has been dumped from the All Blacks squad named to open the Bledisloe Cup defence against the Wallabies.

The scorer of 46 tries in 54 Tests, Savea's patchy form in 2017 is reflected in his omission from coach Steve Hansen's 33-man squad for the Rugby Championship campaign, which begins against Australia in Sydney on August 19.

There are no uncapped players in a New Zealand squad featuring the recall of winger Nehe Milner-Skudder and prop Nepo Laulala, who both last played in 2015.

New Zealand squad:-

Backs: Ben Smith, Jordie Barrett, Israel Dagg, Nehe Milner-Skudder, Waisake Naholo, Rieko Ioane, Ryan Crotty, Anton Lienert-Brown, Sonny Bill Williams, Ngani Laumape, Beauden Barrett, Lima Sopoaga, Damian McKenzie, Aaron Smith, TJ Perenara, Tawera Kerr-Barlow
